THE EXPANSE fanbase is truly unstoppable! In the last week, over 500 more THE EXPANSE fans boarded our fleet and powered us past our goal of $1,450,000. So as promised we’ve now unlocked our final stellar Stretch Goal.
As a reminder, the final Stretch Goal unlocked a limited edition print featuring the stunning THE EXPANSE: DRAGON TOOTH #1 art by Christian Ward, signed by three of the core members of THE EXPANSE streaming series – Steven Strait, Dominique Tipper, and Wes Chatham, for every physical pre-order of $100 or more for free. Additionally, Steven, Dominique, and Wes will also participate in a virtual “cast reading” of THE EXPANSE: DRAGON TOOTH later this year.
Plus every one of the over 500 fans who placed a pre-order through our BackerKit by March 20th at 10am PST will receive all of the unlocked Stretch Goals as if they had pre-ordered through the initial campaign.
With the final Stretch Goal unlocked, we have closed our BackerKit Pre-Order Store as we turn our attention to preparing our Surveys to go out through BackerKit, which should arrive in your inboxes by the end of the month. As a reminder, once Surveys go out, you will be able to see what you ordered as well as what unlocked Stretch Goal items you qualified for. You will also be able to add-on additional items during the Survey period.
The first issue of THE EXPANSE: DRAGON TOOTH will arrive in local comic book stores on Wednesday, April 19th. Every customer with a physical pre-order of $55 or more will automatically receive a free digital edition of the issue so you can enjoy the story of THE EXPANSE: DRAGON TOOTH as it is released.
That being said, if you would like to pre-order and guarantee a physical copy of any of the cool covers of THE EXPANSE: DRAGON TOOTH #1 available in comic book stores, today is the last day to pre-order with your local comic shop. You can locate your local comic book store using the Comic Shop Locator Service and check out available covers along with their order code HERE. Many stores have pre-order services or will reserve a copy for you!

As promised, we’re back this week with details on how we are going to give fans additional time to unlock our final stellar Stretch Goal! We’ve set up and launched our Pre-Order Store on BackerKit, where any THE EXPANSE fans can get in on the excitement. From now until 10am PST on Monday, March 20th, any and all additional pre-orders will count toward our total for the purposes of unlocking the final Stretch Goal. If we reach $1,450,000 by the deadline, we will unlock the final Stretch Goal!
Additionally, any fan who places a pre-order through BackerKit by March 20th at 10am PST will receive all of the unlocked Stretch Goals as if they had pre-ordered through the initial campaign – making this the perfect time to let any fellow fans of THE EXPANSE know they still have a chance to get in on the campaign!
You can find a countdown clock on our BackerKit Pre-Order Store and the total pre-order amount will continue to update in real time, so we can all track how close we are to reaching our goal.
If you’ve already pre-ordered through Kickstarter – thank you, you’ve done your part! Your pre-ordered items along with any unlocked Stretch Goals you are eligible for, will be visible when Surveys go out later this month. You will be able to order additional add-on items during the Survey, and we recommend waiting to order additional items until you receive your Survey to to ensure your order is combined We will do our best to combine any separate orders placed during this pre-order period with your original order, but cannot guarantee they will be combined. Until then, let your fellow fans of THE EXPANSE know the BackerKit Pre-Order Store is open and they can still help us reach our final Stretch Goal!

Taki taki! What an absolutely mind-blowing journey this BOOM! Deluxe Pre-Order campaign for THE EXPANSE: DRAGON TOOTH has been! In the final day alone we surged forward with an additional $130,000 in pre-orders from nearly 1,200 fans for a total $1,405,859 in pre-orders from 12,196 cosmic customers.
Collectively THE EXPANSE fandom achieved so many milestones and broke numerous records with this campaign, and we are thrilled to share those achievements with all of you now:

Deluxe Pre-Order campaign, you’ve pre-ordered over $1,275,000 in comics, graphic novels, and fantastic merchandise making THE EXPANSE: DRAGON TOOTH the #2 comic book campaign in Kickstarter history!
But like Manéo Jung-Espinoza can we defy expectations and slingshot into the #1 spot before this campaign concludes tomorrow morning at 8am PST?
